Today our baby is the size of a cauliflower!

Weight Gained
Not sure. My scale at home vs. that at my doctor’s office tend to say different things, so I am going to wait until my next appointment next week to see what they say. I’m guessing somewhere between 12-15 pounds total so far. It’s really hard to gauge this accurately when I don’t even know what my weight was pre-pregnancy.
Workouts
I am still going strong with workouts over here. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I feel the absolute best when I am moving. Since I have been pregnant, I have looked forward to exercising more than ever before. Here is what a typical week looks like for me right now:
Monday: 30 minute walk + 1 hour strength training class (all my classes are taken at the gym Chris and I belong to)
Tuesday: 30 minute walk + 1 hour barre class
Wednesday: 30 minute walk + 15-30 minute YouTube strength-based video (my favorite channels for pregnancy-safe workouts are BodyFit by Amy and Tone It Up)
Thursday: 30 minute walk + 1 hour yoga class
Friday: 30 minute walk + 15-30 minute YouTube strength-based video
Saturday: 45 minute barre class and maybe a walk if it’s nice out later in the day
Sunday: maybe nothing or maybe a long afternoon walk with Chris
If it gets to be too much I will obviously slow down, but I really hope to keep up being so active as long in my pregnancy as I possibly can.
Symptoms/Body Changes
This week I started to experience way more lower back pain and leg cramping than I have had before. I have also been noticing that my feet are so sore and swollen later in the day. And like I said last week, it is becoming difficult for me to sit, or even lay, in one position for too long. That is super frustrating when all I want to do is be still! I notice all of those symptoms way more on my most active days and get relief from them pretty quickly once I relax and drink some water. Calm Tea has also been very helpful with the cramping (and my quality of sleep).
I had a little bit more energy this week than the last few weeks, but I am definitely starting to see myself slowing down overall. My walks are at a much slower pace than I am used to, I am less aggressive when I drive (lol, this is a real thing), I have less drive to make real plans, and if I can only handle about one thing on my calendar each day. Plus – all I really want to do is stay home and clean/organize. Chris loves this. 😉
Movement
Unlike last week, I have been feeling our baby all day long now! He or she still moves around most at night right before I go to bed and when I am still/after I have eaten during the day, but I also feel that movement at random little times during the day, like when I am grocery shopping or talking to a friend at the gym. It is such a fun reminder that there is a person inside my body. That is so weird (and wonderful) to say. Chris and I’s current favorite nighttime activity is to lay in bed and watch my belly move when our baby kicks or wiggles around in there. We are WILD.
Sleep
My sleep has been so good this week. Chris thinks it’s due to keeping the air conditioning on at night and at a lower temperature than I am used to, and I think it might have something to do with the Calm Tea, but whatever it is I certainly am not complaining. Even before I was pregnant I was a huge fan of sleep, and I definitely feel the best when I am able to get to bed around 10:30 or so and wake up about 7:30. Of course I am waking up 1-2 times in the night to go to the bathroom, but I am so grateful that I am starting to be able to get back to sleep way faster after those little trips now.
Appreciating/Missing
This might be a silly thing to say I appreciate, but a good friend of mine recommended the Risen Motherhood podcast to me a few weeks ago, and I have been obsessed with it ever since. They have short 20 minute-ish episodes that I listen to while I walk, cook, clean, drive, or do just about anything else. The two girls who host it give such insightful, practical parenting words of wisdom that I am just trying to soak up as much as possible right now. I am excited to be all caught up in a couple of weeks and to have the current episodes to go to once our little bud is actually here. 🙂
I miss having a lot of clothing options. I totally took for granted what I had before and am mad at myself for wearing the same few things over and over again when I wasn’t even pregnant. Now I have like, 6-7 go-to things that I wear out in public and then when I’m at home, it’s Chris’s big t-shirts and no pants. I came across the PinkBlush maternity clothing website (a recommendation from my podcast above) this week and ordered a few pieces from there – some that I love and that fit me great and others that make me look absolutely ridiculous. It is definitely going to be a trial and error process to build a little maternity wardrobe that makes me feel confident and comfortable. But for the record, PinkBlush has some of the cutest clothes, both pregnancy and regular, and it is going to be tough for me to not spend an exorbitant amount of money with them over the next couple of months. However, I can always find maternity clothes I love at Target and picked up a few more of those over the week, too.
Baby Items/Nursery
Our rocking chair/glider came in this week! My mom and I ordered it about a month or so ago and when the store called me to say it was in on Friday, Chris and I hopped right in the car to go pick it up. He set it up super easily, and I am obsessed. Pretty soon the nursery is going to be my favorite new hangout spot in the house.
Looking Forward To
Continuing to get our home ready for the baby. Like I mentioned above, I am already in nesting-mode big time and love organizing/throwing things away to make room for all of our new little person’s things. 🙂
Next On To-Do List
Decide if we want to do a maternity and/or newborn photo shoot
Stop eating dessert every single night……haha, it’s gotten out of control
Continue to work through organizing/getting rid of/donating extra items in our house
