I love a clean slate. Nothing makes me happier than starting from scratch and having the opportunity to build something exactly as I want it. So you can imagine how excited I am to finally launch my own website, literally from a blank page on the Internet. It’s been a long time coming and something I’ve been looking forward to over the last couple of years. Although I currently have a full-time career in business, I am excited to also start up this blog as a way to not only make myself happy, but to hopefully reach others at a similar stage in life as I am that can relate.

Ever since I was young I have had an obsessive personality. If I love something, I love it with my whole heart. If I hate something, I hate it with everything I have. There is no in-between. Is this inconvenient? Absolutely. But it’s also kind of cool, because I get to pour my all into those people and things that I am truly passionate about and typically don’t look back. I’ve held off on writing this blog for so long, because I didn’t think I would have the time or resources to “give it my all.” Then eventually I realized that the perfect time will never come, and I could very well be waiting around forever. So here we are.
On that note, let me tell you a little bit about myself, this blog, and what it’s going to be all about.
The Blogger
My name is Allison and I am 25. I live in the metro-Detroit area, fairly close to my childhood home. I moved about three hours away for college, but in general have stayed pretty close to the area. I am very close with my family and have the best parents and three awesome younger sisters. All of this is super cliche to say, but I also have the best friends and boyfriend I think I could ask for. I have an M.B.A. and my dream is to own my own business one day. After college, I was a personal trainer and a nutrition coach for a few years and am really interested in health, fitness, and cooking. Good food and wine make me very happy; the only thing better is if these two things are included while traveling somewhere new.

The Blog
I wrote a little bit about this over on my About page, but essentially I had the idea for this blog when I realized that I can’t be the only one who loves brunch and wishes that it could be a daily activity. People are just generally happy when they are having brunch, whether it is with friends, family, their significant other, or someone new. I wanted to somehow portray that feeling on the Internet and show others that our lives can be like it’s always brunch.

The Purpose
My hope is to (somehow) inspire people through my own life to live their best life and focus on the things that matter the most: those we love, the things we are passionate about, and mimosas.
